Sitting and Walking Meditation
Chanting and Prostrations
The 108 Delusions
You are invited to join us for our New Year’s Eve service.
We will do sitting and walking meditation from 9pm-10:45pm.
Near 10:45pm, the leader (ino) will provide instructions on the way to do prostrations. Then we will begin with the opening chant. We will do 108 prostrations.
It is perfectly fine to participate, if you do not wish or are unable to do the full 108 prostrations. You can bow from a sitting position on your cushion.
Traditionally, there are 108 obstacles/gates to enlightenment. The leader (doan) will chant each “gate” or “delusion” and then sound a bell to signal the prostration – approximately one every thirty seconds.
Schedule:
Saturday, December 31
9pm-10:45pm ~ Sitting and walking meditation

We encourage everyone who wishes to participate to come at 9pm. However, we will check the front door on the half hour from 9pm until 10:30pm (only), so if you are going to be late, please arrive by at least 10:30pm.
